Savings

The primary function of any financial institution is to be a safe place for money. At First Tech, your money is not only protected by a large, metal vault, but it's also federally insured by the NCUA.

The great thing is, members throughout the years have needed different kinds of savings accounts for different kinds of needs. So, we've created a host of options to fit everyone. From the basic savings vehicle, to accounts that deliver more return on your money for a slightly larger deposit. We even have Individual Retirement Accounts for those interested in saving for their retirement. The whole list is below.

Don't worry if you don't know what you want, call 800.637.0852 or stop by any branch and we'll help you decide which option is right for you and your family.

Regular Share
This is the basis of your First Tech membership. This is where your original $5 deposit lives. The dividends in this account are paid and compounded monthly with payroll deductions for deposits.

Instant Access Account
Everything today is instant. The Instant Access Account follows that trend by offering an account with no fees, money-market flexibility and great rates. All you have to do is keep a minimum of $5,000 in there to enjoy the perks.

Certificate Accounts
With terms ranging from 6 months to 3 years, and the ability to lock-in guaranteed rates, this is one of the greatest savings options around. A minimum of $500 is required for regular certificates and $50,000 for jumbo certificates.

Individual Retirement Accounts (IRA)
Enjoy a reduced tax bite while watching the compounded returns grow monthly. With First Tech IRAs, you have your choice of a fixed or variable rate.

Health Savings Accounts (HSAs)
We all love options. And a First Tech Health Savings Account (HSA) delivers. Now you have the power to decide how and where you want to spend your qualified medical expense dollars. In addition to earning 4.0% APY (annual percentage yield), withdrawals on qualified medical expenses are tax-free and contributions are tax deductible up to a set limit. Be sure to consult your tax professional for specific advice. Rates subject to change. See current rates and restrictions here.
