Online Banking Security
Security Overview Plain and simple you want to know what we do to protect you. Below is a general overview of the precautions that are taken to ensure that your visit to First Tech Online Banking is safe and secure.
Using the Online Banking Login on the firsttechcu.com pages is safe as your Account ID and PIN (Personal Identification Number) are transmitted via secure session that is established between your browser and our systems. Your information is encrypted using 40-bit or 128-bit encryption algorithm (128-bit is used if your browser supports it) and sent to our systems for authentication into Online Banking. Please note that First Tech never transmits your information without it being encrypted first.
You can login to Online Banking via the link below:

Should you have questions, comments and/or concerns, please use the Contact Us form.
Authentication In order to use our online services you must have an account number and a password (PIN). Your password for 1sttech Online is the key to unlock your financial information. FTCU employees do not have access to your password. If your password is entered incorrectly three times at the login page, your account will be locked out. You will then need to contact the Credit Union to be authenticated and unlocked (800.637.0852).
To maintain high levels of security the following recommendations have been established for selecting a password (PIN):
-
Your password must be between 4-9 alpha-numeric characters
-
Passwords cannot contain special characters (* @# $) or the letters Q or Z
-
When selecting your password, do not select one that is easily known by others
-
Do not give your password to anyone
-
Do not Auto Save your password in your browser
-
Change your password every 90 days
Encryption We require the use of a secure browser to access your account online. Your browser must be equipped with SSL (Secure Socket Layer) with 40-bit or higher encryption to communicate with our servers. We encourage you to use 128-bit encryption.
Network Security & Monitoring We employ a concept termed 'security in depth' regarding network security. Simply put, we use many layers of security to provide added protection, rather than a single layer such as a firewall. This places multiple barriers between the outside world and our business-critical information resources. Yes, we do use firewalls; but we also use our routers and intrusion detection systems to protect the Credit Union's online banking and other networks from unauthorized traffic. All network activity accessing our business-critical systems is logged, monitored and audited on a continual basis.
Session Cookies Our Internet servers use session cookie technology to ensure account confidentiality and security. A cookie is a temporary object that allows you to browse within password-protected areas of our web site. The cookie is only valid during your current login session and is automatically discarded after periods of inactivity or log off.
Virus Scans We use several layers of virus detection software. This software scans our network to detect any virus activity that may be introduced. Our email servers also provide the same protection, scanning each incoming document.
