Vote information
Right now, First Tech and Addison Avenue have simply announced their intent to merge. The first step is to gain regulatory approval. Next, every First Tech member will have the opportunity to vote and approve the merger. First Tech is a State Chartered Credit Union and Addison Avenue is a Federal Credit Union. When credit unions merge, the members of the credit union whose charter is changing must vote. In this merger, First Tech’s current state charter would change to Addison Avenue’s federal charter. That means First Tech members must vote to approve the merger.
First Tech’s bylaws do not allow proxy voting. If you choose to not exercise your right to vote, no other member (including Board Members) may vote in your place. The actual timing of the vote depends on regulatory approval, but at best, we expect it would occur sometime this summer. We’ll be sure to give you plenty of advance notice and information about the vote.
